Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Donor Bridge (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Donor Bridge provides donor‑management, fundraising, and related back‑office tools for nonprofit organizations, including a giving/pledge flow, a cultivation pipeline, reminders, receipts, and financial exports.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be authorized to act on behalf of the organization you register.
• You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure.
• You must provide accurate information and promptly update it as needed.

3. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

• Plans and prices are described on our Pricing page. The Starter plan begins with a 90‑day free trial and then bills monthly unless cancelled.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled. You authorize us (via our payment processor) to charge the applicable fees.
• Fees are exclusive of taxes, which you are responsible for where applicable. Fees are non‑refundable except where required by law.
• We may change prices or plan features with reasonable prior notice; changes take effect at your next renewal.

4. Acceptable use

• Do not use the Service unlawfully, or to store or transmit unlawful content.
• Do not attempt to breach security, access other organizations' data, or disrupt the Service.
• Do not resell or provide the Service to third parties except as permitted.

5. Your data and your responsibilities

• You retain ownership of the data you submit ("Customer Data"), including donor records. You grant us a limited license to host and process Customer Data solely to provide the Service.
• You are responsible for collecting donor information lawfully, obtaining any required consents, honoring donor communication preferences, and for the accuracy of receipts, tax statements, and acknowledgments you issue through the Service.
• You are responsible for your organization's compliance with applicable charity, tax, and privacy laws.

6. Third‑party services

The Service integrates with third parties such as QuickBooks, Zelle, and email delivery. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software and design, is owned by Donor Bridge and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights in the Service except the limited right to use it as described.

8. Disclaimers — not professional advice

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Donor Bridge does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice. Features that generate receipts, tax statements, or financial reports are tools to assist you; you are responsible for their accuracy and for your regulatory compliance. Consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your organization.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Donor Bridge will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability arising out of the Service will not exceed the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Donor Bridge against claims arising from your Customer Data or your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Termination

You may cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or non‑payment. On termination, we will make your data available for export for a limited period and then delete it as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated date and, where appropriate, notice to account administrators. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

13. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Fairfax County, Virginia. Donor Bridge is operated by Donor Bridge, Burke, Virginia. Contact: support@donor-bridge.org.
